Two-time Olympic medallist Neeraj Chopra married Himani on Sunday, January 19.

Who is Neeraj Chopra ?
Subedar Major Neeraj Chopra PVSM VSM (born 24 December 1997) is an Indian track and field athlete. Considered as the greatest Indian javelin thrower, he’s a double medalist at the Olympics, World Championships, and the Asian Games. He has won the Diamond League once. Chopra won the gold medal at the 2020 Olympics, becoming the first Asian javelin throw athlete to do so.
He became the first Asian to win a gold in javelin at the World Championships after his win in 2023. Chopra has won gold medals in every major tournament. He has a podium finish streak in 24 consecutive competitions, dating back to 2020. Since his performance at the 2016 World U20 Championship, he continues to hold the junior javelin throw world record.

Himani Mor is also from Haryana, is a tennis player and sports management student. Himani Mor, 25, hails from Sonipat, Haryana, and has excelled in academics and sports, having done her schooling at Little Angels School in Sonipat.
Currently pursuing a degree in Sports Management at Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire, USA, Himani previously graduated from Delhi’s Miranda House with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Physical Education.

Neeraj Chopra Family
Chopra was born on 24 December 1997 in a Haryanvi Ror agricultural family in Khandra village in Panipat district of Haryana. His mother Saroj Devi and father Satish Chopra are both farmers. He has two sisters Savita Chopra and Sangeeta Chopra.
Education and early training
Chopra did his initial schooling from BVN Public School in Panipat. After some locals teased him about his obesity, he enrolled in a gym in Panipat. While training there, he saw javelin throwers practising at the nearby Shivaji stadium and took up the sport. In 2010, he moved to Panchkula to train at the Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex, aged 13. After moving to Panchkula, he joined the Dayanand Anglo-Vedic College, Chandigarh, where he completed his schooling.
Paris Olympics and Diamond League 2024
Chopra achieved the qualification quota for the 2024 Paris Olympics by achieving the Olympic Qualifying Standard (OQS) at the Asian Games. Chopra started the 2024 season at 2024 Doha Diamond League on 10 May where he finished second with a throw of 88.36 m which was just 2 cm short of Czech Republic‘s Jakub Vadlejch who won the competition with a throw of 88.38m.
On 15 May, Chopra participated in his first competition in India since becoming the Olympic champion and won gold at the Federation Cup 2024 with best throw of 82.27 m. Ahead of the Paris Olympics, Chopra participated at Paavo Nurmi Games where he won gold with a throw of 85.97 m on 18 June.
